4,000+ turn out to Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival

The seventh Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival, held in May and June, has been declared a huge success by its organisers.

More than 4,000 walkers took part, choosing from 80 walks in the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds and surrounding countryside.
Walks ranged from gentle evening strolls to energetic long distance walks and gave people the chance to enjoy the countryside, make new friends, get some fresh air and gain a sense of achievement.

Stuart Parker, chairman of the Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival Steering Group, said: “It’s really good to see so many people taking part, all of whom, no matter what age, have enjoyed it.
«I would like to express my thanks to all those who were involved, in making this Festival a success, particularly the walk leaders, most of whom are volunteers.»

The Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival for 2012 will run from Saturday, May 26 until Sunday, June 10.
