More than 200 people take part in Princes Risborough Walking Festival

WALKERS from as far afield as Wolverhampton joined the fourth annual walking festival in Risborough which lasted over six days.

More than 200 participants joined the guided walks and the new Risborough Countryside Group website is thought to have raised the national profile of the event.

Organiser Francis Gomme said: «The extension of the festival into the preceding week and a number of new topics including a geological Time Walk, a ramble looking at the 1930s Whiteleaf connection with famous artists including the Nash brothers and Clare Leighton, plus an introduction to Nordic walking, all proved very popular. The feedback from participants has been extremely complimentary and 100 per cent positive»

He thanked all the volunteers who helped, St Mary's Church who served cream teas, RACA, the Town Council, Wycombe District Council and the Chilterns AONB.
