APPLICATIONS are now being sought for this year’s Five Valleys Festivals in September.
These allow organisations and businesses to get involved with activities taking place within the festivals, which have become major events in the area’s annual calendar.
Among the applications being welcomed are from pubs, cafes, restaurants and outlets to be included in the Stroud Food and Drink Festival, which runs from September 2 – 18.
Incorporated within this will be the Stroud Walking Festival, for which walking groups are invited to submit applications to include a variety of routes in the official festival programme. 
This year also includes the Festival of Nature – set to be a highlight of the fortnight held in Stratford Park over the second weekend – and the Eco Open Homes Festival held the same weekend.
«The last few years has seen people from all over the UK and as far away as America and Australia come to festival events,» said festivals director Bern Wakefield-Heath.
«All these events will attract a lot of people into Stroud and the surrounding area over the period of the festivals, and will be the perfect way for companies and organisations to attract awareness for what they do.»
