Saturday 24th September
Altnaheglish Circuit (Guided Walk)
Distance: 9 miles approx
Level: Grade A/B Walks Available
Departing: 9am from Burnavon Cookstown
(Bus Transport Provided)
Suitable for: Experienced Hill Walkers
Route Description:
This is a beautiful and very scenic walk. Covering a distance of approximately 9 miles this walk is mostly flat climbing to no more than 100m in places. The Walk starts from Altbritain Forest, crossing a narrow ford with walkers criss-crossing through the beautiful Banagher Forest eventually making their way up to Altnaheglish Reservoir. The walk then follows the Altnaheglish River all the way back through the forest to the finish point at Altbritain forest.

Walk 1 - Lough Fea Dander
Distance: 2.5 miles approx
Level: Easy
Departing between: 10am & 2.30pm Lough Fea*
Suitable for: Families and Casual Walkers
Complete Walk: 45 minutes approx
A flat circular route on a well established path at Lough Fea set amongst young conifers bounding a mountain reservoir. No need to book - just make a donation to the Stroke Association on the day.
Walk 2 - Mobuy Wood Walk (Guided Walk)
Distance: 5 miles approx
Suitable for: Reasonably Fit Walkers
(No Wheelchair or Pushchair Access)
Departing at: 12noon Lough Fea*
Level: Moderate
Time To Complete Walk: 2-3 hours approx
Leaving Lough Fea this walk climbs to 450 metres giving extensive views of farmland, forest and mountain on a clear day. The route is along the Western boundary fence of Mobuy Wood.
