26th February (Sunday)
Transfer from Malaga airport to the village of El Burgo and 3* hotel ‘La Casa Grande’ 

Visitor Registration & Reception at El Burgo's Nature Park Centre.

27th February (Monday)
Guided Walks A & B  (see grading key below)

Walk A - Circular walk from El Burgo upstream on the Moorish trail to Ronda before doubling back along the Rio Turon.
Walk B - Explore the surrounding olive and almond groves with a low level circular walk form El Burgo.
Non walkers - Andalucian Cookery 1
Evening of Musical Entertainment in the Old Library

28th February (Tuesday)
Half day Guided Walks A & B 

Morning - non walkers - Photography & Painting Morning Trip 
Afternoon - Dia de Andalucia Village Party

29th February (Wednesday)
Guided Walks A & B 

Walk A - Into the Sierra de las Nieves Nature Park with a route through the majestic forests of Spanish Firs.
 Walk B - A circular walk within the Nature Park along drovers' trails.

Non walkers - Excursion to Ronda with Wine Tasting Bodega Tour.                          
Evening - Discovering the Nature Park with Guest Speakers

1st March (Thursday)
Guided Walks A & B 

Walk A - Linear walk from Yunquera village back to El Burgo along a trail once used by monks from the nearby former monastery.
Walk B - A shorter linear walk through the park from Yunquera.
Non walkers - Andalucian Cookery 2
Evening - Group Paella Night at La Casa Grande

2nd March (Friday)
Guided Walks A & B
 
Walk A - A chance to climb Sierra Cabrilla, the limestone giant that towers over El Burgo.
Walk B - A drop off and walk back to El Burgo, through beautifully mixed terrain of pine forests, worked fields and olive groves, with wonderful views over the surrounding hills
Non walkers - Bird Watching Field Trip
Evening - A star gazers night walk

3rd March (Saturday)
Guided Walks A & B 

Walk A - Stunning circular walk through the Nature Park with a great variety of terrain on show; from mountain pastures to craggy limestone cliffs that overhang majestic forests of endemic Fir. 
Walk B - A circular walk within the Park past the lime and stone built farmhouse where the last Andalucian outlaw had a daring escape from the Law.
 Non walkers - Olive Harvest and Production of Virgin Oil
Evening - Dress up for Carnaval

4th March
(Sunday)
Transfer to Malaga airport. 



Note: Walk Gradings are as follows:.
Grade A: a walk between 4 and 6 hours with combined altitude climb not exceeding 500m.
Grade B: a walk between 3 and 5 hours with combined climbs not exceeding 250m.

Notes:
The programme is packed with an range of activities, led by expert guides and tutors. The participants will experience Andalucian customs at first hand as they participate in the Olive Harvest & Virgin Oil Production, Andalucian Cookery Classes, Pottery, Bodega Wine Tasting Tour, Oil  Painting, Bird & Wildlife Field Trip as well as a Cultural Tour of Historic Ronda.

The Festival continues into the evening with entertainment laid on such as, live music, a paella night and an astronomical night walk.

The Festival coincides with two local fiestas - Andalucia Day and The Carnival of El Burgo, an opportunity to immerse in traditional Spanish culture.
