The Autumn colours will be at their very best both in the varied woodland and moorland landscapes through which the routes pass.
The programme provides 21 interesting themed walks of varying difficulty in outstanding countryside with great company.
Walks are graded and vary from Easy and Moderate to Strenuous and vary in length from 4 to 14 miles, each with its own special features and interests.
For most walks, regardless of length, the cost has been maintained at just £6 with a few rising up to £10 where additional costs have been incurred.
Brochures are now available in Tourist Information Centres and local businesses throughout the region. Bookings can be made on line through the official website.
Bookings are already going very well with some walks already filling up but there are still many places and interesting opportunities for both those returning to the area and particularly new visitors.
'The Best of Haltwhistle' is a great to introduce visitors to the townand begins at a Coffee mornings held in the hall behind the Methodist Chapel. Then the walk itself will starts and takes in the main features around the Haltwhistle including Natural features and historical landmarks.
Likewise any visitor should not miss the chance to walk around the Roman Wall landscape and 'North Of Brocolitia' begins on the wall at a Roman Mithriatic temple before taking in some of the delights north of the Wall.
For those looking for something less strenuous the 'Walk & Weave' gives people the chance after a short walk to see history in action, have an informal weaving afternoon and learn a little about how over the ages a sheep's fleece is turned into cloth.
