Ulverston's annual walking festival will kick off on Friday (April 29) and is set to run until Sunday, May 8.
It offers people the opportunity to test out their stamina and staying power on a number of routes ranging from one mile to 17 miles.
Organisers said they had tried to include as many different places and style of walk as possible – from rambles on the fells to historical paths – while linking linking lots of the area's hotspots.
Each walk will be led by a guide who will not only navigate but also give a commentary on the special sights and sounds of each area.
All the guides are volunteers, with most having a specific knowledge about the district, ranging from the old iron mines to The Hoad monument.
Jean Povey, one of the organisers, said: «There will be a local artist doing sketching along the way on one route, a testing 17-mile walk over the Coniston fells on another, so I would encourage all local people to go along down and have a go.»

«Everyone is really friendly– someone once described it as a walking cocktail party as you speak to some people for a while and then move one and talk to someone else.»
