Step it out at Slieve Bloom Walking Festival

The 17th Annual Slieve Bloom Walking Festival takes place on the May Bank Holiday weekend from April 29 to May 2, 2011. So get your boots on for a weekend of fun and easy outdoor activity in the beautiful Slieve Blooms!

The festival provides a range of 12 hill walks from easy to moderate to challenging at various locations in the Slieve Blooms.

Experienced walk leaders will enhance your walk with information on local historic sites and wildlife. In the evenings we have arranged some great entertainment for you, candlelit dinners followed by traditional Irish music session, a BBQ and the Walkers Hoe Down in Kinnitty Castle.
You too can walk in the footsteps of Fionn Mac Cumhaill where thousands of years of magic and mystery are interwoven across a land as unspoiled as it is rich in archaeology, history, tradition and culture. Why don’t you join us?

Festival Programme
The Slieve Bloom Walking Festival will offer a great deal more than just guided walking. Start off the weekend with a short 2 hour walk through the bluebells in Knockbarron Wood. Meet your new friends in Giltrap pub and later join the traditional music session in the Dungeon Bar Kinnitty Castle.
