Walking festival launched in Wales, in the UK’s only coastal national park destination - Bluestone Walking Festival

A new walking festival is to be launched in May to attract visitors to Wales’ Pembrokeshire coast, the UK’s only coastal national park, as part of an initiative by the five-star Bluestone National Park Resort.

The Bluestone Walking Festival will take place between Sunday, 2 May until Thursday 27 May, in association with the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, allowing guests to take in the stunning scenery and beauty of the Pembrokeshire coast and countryside while enjoying the luxury of the Bluestone Resort itself.

The inaugural festival is part of a new package launched by Bluestone that will involve mid-week and weekend walks compiled by the National Park Authority and conducted by trained, qualified and knowledgeable leaders.

“The Pembrokeshire coast was voted the second best coastal destination in the world last year and generations of visitors have enjoyed the spectacular scenery, ancient woodlands, wildlife havens and golden beaches,” said Yvonne Buckingham, Head of Marketing at Bluestone.

“Combining the stunning landscape and walking opportunities with Bluestone and the expertise of walk leaders from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority will provide a unique opportunity for visitors to see and learn much more about the area while enjoying five-star short-break accommodation.”

Walkers visiting the Welsh National Park will be able to end their walking day being pampered at The Well holistic spa at Bluestone, enjoy a meal at the Carreg Las restaurant before dreaming about their day in one of the luxurious lodges set in spectacular countryside.

The Bluestone Walking Festival costs from £98 per person (based on four people sharing a Caldey Lodge at Bluestone) and will include transport to the start and end of each walking route, led by a trained and knowledgeable leader. Guests can also bring friends, partners or family who might not want to walk but instead enjoy the relaxing or exhilarating activities on hand at Bluestone, including the Steep Ravine and Blue Lagoon water park.

Bluestone also offers a range of other guided walking breaks throughout the year that take in the coastal and countryside areas of Pembrokeshire.

Bookings can be made by calling 01834 862400.
