Thursday 14 April
Pre-festival event in conjunction with Word Market. The Adventurous Mechanics of Producing My Books by Paddy Dillon at Ford House. 7.30pm £3 including refreshments. Paddy is a local author of 40+ walking guides. www.paddydillon.co.uk

Friday 29 April

11am Swarthmoor Hall and Woods with Raymond Willock. Meet at Rose Garden, Victoria Rd. 2 miles 1 hour easy. FREE.
6pm A Right Royal Mess (Dog Poo Walk) Ben Leah would like help highlighting mess around town. Meet in the Gill for this fun event. Wedding or bridesmaids dresses optional. 1 hour.
7.30pm Pub walk with Richard Scott. Meet at Ulverston Brewery Victoria Rd, where you can buy a pint and support the Hospice. 1 mile 3 hours easy.

Sat 30 April (Printfest at Coro)

9.22am Bigland Tarn & Heights with Pete & Christine Quiggin. From Victoria Rd get X35 bus to Newby Bridge, or meet at Newby Bridge bus stop at 9.40am (GR 369863). Bring lunch. Return 2.15pm, or 3.15pm, bus. 8 miles 4 hours moderate.
11am Advanced Map Reading Skills with Martin Cooper. Meet layby near Gawthwaite (GR 267847). Bring lunch. 4 hours moderate. Book on 583524. Car share possible.
2pm Walk to Manjushri Buddhist Centre with Shirley Pickard. Tour and tea. Meet at swimming pool, Priory Rd, walk along lanes and beach. Return 11 bus or walk. 2.5 miles 3 hours easy.

Sun 1 May (Printfest at Coro)

10.30am Kirkby Moor with Steve Povey. Bring lunch and picnic at stone circle. Meet in the Gill. 8 miles 5 hours moderate.
2pm Barefoot Walk with Jean Povey. Go over Birkrigg (grass) and Bardsea (sand). Do a bit barefoot. Meet outside Swimming Pool. 6 miles 3 hours moderate. NO DOGS.

Mon 2 May (Gig in Garden at Ford Park)

11am Dunnerdale Fell & Forest with Martin Cooper. Some archeological interest. Meet car park on C road (GR 252927) at 11am. Suggest approach from Torver. Bring lunch. 6 miles 5 hours moderate. Call 583524 to car share.
11am Dalton Castle with Raymond Willock. Meet 11 am at Tudor Square bus stop, Dalton. 2 miles 1 hour easy. FREE.

Tues 3 May

10am Sketching & Walking to Windy Ash with Dudley Clark. Bring A4 sketch pad, pencil, pen and sit-mat. Meet in Gill. Bring lunch. 3 miles 4 hours easy.
10.20am Coniston, Tarn Hows, Tom Heights & Black Crag with Mary Searle-Chatterjee. Get X12 bus from Victoria Rd. or meet at Coniston TIC at 11am. Bring lunch. 10 miles 5 hours moderate.
2pm The Leven Estuary with ecologist Richard Scott. Meet at Bay Horse pub, Canal Foot. Bring wellies. 2 miles 2 hours easy.

Wed 4 May

10.20am Coniston Tops with Martin Cooper. Get 10.20am X12 bus from Victoria Rd or meet Coniston TIC at 11am. Bring lunch & mountain gear. 1 to 3 summits depending on weather/group. Hard.
1pm Library Talk, History Walk with Jennifer Snell. Refreshments in the History section. 1 mile on pavements. 1.5 hours easy.
2pm Conishead Priory Gardens & Woods with Shirley Pickard. Meet at Priory main door. 1 mile 1 hour easy.(Temple & cafe will be open).
6pm Litter Pick up Gill Banks organised by Ulverston in Bloom.

Thurs 5 May

9.40am Bardsea to Lanternhouse have a laugh with the Lakes Alive Vagabonds. Get 9.40am bus 11 from Victoria Rd, or meet at Bardsea Malt Kiln at 10am. 3 miles 2 hours easy. www.lakesalive.org
9.45am Furness Abbey to Ulverston on Cistercian Way with Linda Marshall. Get 9.45am No 6 bus from Victoria Rd or meet at Furness Abbey main gate at 10.15am. Bring lunch, bus fare and money for tour of Swarthmoor Hall. No Dogs. 8 miles 4 hours easy.
3.30pm Ford Park History & Nature with Leigh Swindlehurst. Meet at Main Gate. 0.5 mile 1 hour easy. (Stay for Car Boot).

Fri 6 May

10am Herb Walk with Sarah Atkinson. Meet at Lancastrian pub, Croftlands. Visit Willington Wood, Birkrigg and Bardsea. Bring lunch. 5 miles 4 hours moderate.
11am Gill Banks with Raymond Willock. Meet Rose Garden, Victoria Rd. 2 miles 1 hour easy. FREE.
7pm Treasure Hunt from Scout Hut, Dragley Beck to Ford Park. Families welcome.
9pm Bat Walk with Rich Flight. Meet Ford Park House. Info and detectors supplied. 0.5 mile 1 hour.

Sat 7 May.

11am Furness Iron - Old Peru with Colin Pickthall. Meet in the Gill. Bring lunch. No Dogs. 7 miles 4 hours moderate.
11.30am Lesser Known Paths round S Ulverston with Jean Povey. Meet at Scout Hut, Dragley Beck. Bring lunch. NO DOGS. 4 miles 2 hours easy.
2pm Walk to Manjushri Buddhist Centre. Repeat of walk on Sat 30 April.

Sun 8 May

10.30am Ulverston Circular with Jack Rice. Meet outside Walkers Hostel. Bring lunch. 11 miles 5 hours moderate. (Can leave after 8 miles).
2pm Magical Mystery with the Woodcraft Folk. For under 7s and their families. (Not pushchair friendly). Meet at top of Chittery Lane. 1 mile 2 hour easy.
9pm Up Hoad with a Torch. Meet at Parish Church and end at Old Friends pub. 2 miles 1 hour moderate.
