Tibbie Shiels—Southern Upland Way to Scableuch—Potburn—Bodesbeck
14 miles/22 km  Strenuous  7.5 hours
Following the route of the Southern Upland Way as far as  Potburn and return to Bodesbeck in Moffat Water Valley.   Steep Climbs.

Chapel Farm—Roman Road to Braehead—return via Old Edinburgh Coach Road to Meikleholmside
10 miles/16 km  Strenuous  5 hours
Moderate climb from Chapel Farm along Roman  Road—exit on to A701 and return via Ericstane Farm/ Meikleholmside (old coaching route)

Dumcrieff—Crofthead via Southern Upland Way—return using new alternative route via Craigbeck Rig to Craigbeck
10 miles/16 km  Strenuous  6 hours
Follow Southern Upland Way on forest track to Crofthead,  climb track over Crofthead Hill and use new alternative  route to Craigbeck.  Good views of Moffat.

5 miles/8 km  Moderate  3 hours
Walk through Eskdalemuir Forest, calling at Samye Ling
Tibetan Centre

Annandale Way—Newbie to Hoddom
10.5 miles/17 km  Moderate  5 hours
The route follows the River Annan from the sea  northwards along the river bank through Brydekirk on to  St. Kintigern’s Graveyard to Hoddom Castle.

13 miles/21 km  Moderate  6 hours
Route circuits Kirk Loch on to Hightae and forest tracks to  John Graham’s Monument to Hoddom Castle

Centre
6 miles/10 km  Moderate  4 hours
Walk through Glenholm Valley south of Broughton over  tracks and fields and open hillside.  Two short climbs

Frenchlands—Jenny’s Stone—Alton Road—Old Mill  Cottage—Gallow Hill—The Hope—Adamsholm— Watersides—Station Park

Breconside—Wintergill Head—Bellcraig Linn
7 miles/11 km  Strenuous  4 hours
Walk starting at Breconside with steep climb to Wintergill Head and return via Bellcraig Linn to Breconside passing the Devil’s Footmark.

Circular walk starting at Glenochar near  Lowther Hills
10 miles/16 km  Strenuous  6 hours
Steep climbs in the Lowther Hills and at Glenochar,  climbing to Pedon Head, returning via Dun Law, White Law and Laurie Wood Law

Fruid Reservoir—Crown of Scotland—Chalk Rig Edge—Devil’s Beef Tub
8 miles/13 km  Moderate  4.5 hours
Steep climb over Carthope Rig to Crown of Scotland and returning via Devil’s Beef Tub with excellent views of Moffa

Walk on Silver Jubilee Road around the Menzion Valley in  Tweedsmuir.  Good views of Tala and Fruid Reservoirs.

Golf Course—Garpol Glen—Castle Ruins—Auchencastle—cross M74—Fullshaw Bridge—Chapel Farm—Moffat
7.5 miles/12 km  Easy  4.5 hours
Cross the Golf Course and the underpass to reach the beautiful Garpol Glen—pass Castle ruins back to  Auchencastle, cross the motorway to reach Fullshaw Bridge and return to Moffat via Chapel Farm.  Good views  of Annandale Valley.

Lochwood Oaks—Park Bridge—Cauldholm—Weatherlaw Knowe—Stainsheilrig to Crooked Road—Moffat
8 miles/13 km  Easy  4 hours
From Lochwood Tower—Park Bridge and Kinnel Water—follow Annandale Way and return via Southern Upland Way to Beattock and Moffat
